Only 48 percent of the students are ready for the Faculty of Mathematics, Montana, and only 30 percent willing to science in the field of higher education, according to data screening test 2009, which reported to the Office of the Commissioner of the State of Higher Education.

To address this issue, the state university system hosted a meeting of the Montana Mathematics and Science Teacher Initiative on Aug. 2 at the Carroll College Campus Center in Helena. It was titled "Statewide Transformation in STEM Education." (STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics.)

Speakers included Governor Brian Schweitzer, President of Montana State University fought Cruzado, University of Montana President George M.. Dennison, dean of the College first show Paula Carroll, and Howard Gobstein, a government official based in Washington with the Association of public universities and land grant.
